Caught at second

s, in Sylvan Lake, the Edmonton Cubs stumble in the return match a day later in Edmonton losing to the Riggers 6-2.

The Cubs sent Nik Cardinal to the mound in his Cubs debut. Cardinal looked good early on, but Red Deer touched him up with a few timely hits, while at the same time Edmonton made some untimely fielding errors costing them runs.

The Riggers starting pitcher dominated the Cubs hitters while going the distance and, only allowing a couple of hits early on.

The Cubs played sluggishly in the field and at-bat, due to what could be the season starting to take its toll both physically and mentally on them. The Cubs, at the moment, have a lean squad with a few players on the IL and others playing hurt.

Now with a record of 12 and 4 and sole possession of first place, the Cubs will need to re-group and get their Mojo back over the next couple of games and get ready for playoffs and defending their 2019 playoff win performance.
