Friday, June 18th St. Albert Tigers vs Edmonton Cubs @ Centennial Park, St. Albert
The Edmonton Cubs were upset by the St. Albert Tigers both on the scoreboard and at home plate.
The Cubs continue to work on shaking off the rust for the 2021 season against the youthful Tigers. The second time this week the Cubs struggled at bat and on the mound and were not able to keep the St. Albert Tigers in check who seems very hungry to prove their young stature is a blessing and not a hindrance and bring back a bit of the Tigers glorious past.
While the Cubs hitters are trying to getting their timing down, and their pitchers are working on hitting their spots and executing pitches, the Tigers are in good form with a number of them just coming off a complete College Baseball season in the U.S. Resulting in good timely hits while touching up Cubs pitching.
One play at the plate saw a sliding Tiger literally and physically upset Cubs catcher Clay Davis scoring one of their 5 runs. (Ouch!)
On this night the Tigers proved too much for the Cubs to handle with another loss to the Tigers 5-2
The Edmonton squad won’t have much time to dwell on their loss as the next two games are against the formidable Red Deer Riggers.
Let’s Go Cubs!
